ERIC: Moving together from Concern to Commitment

  • Evaluation (3 hours approx.) deadline for return at least 3 weeks prior to ETMís visit.
    • Participants: Concerned individuals and the entire leadership which will be considered representative of the whole church body.
    • Activity: Prayerfully complete the evaluations, seal them in the envelopes enclosed and return to the church office to be mailed to ETM by deadline.
    • Ministry: ETM presents at a church dinner for all respondents and church leaders on Thursday evening of the designated week-end. On Friday morning the ETM staff meets with the church staff to discuss and recommend process.
  • Recommendation (3 hours) Friday evening.
    • Participants: All respondents above with ETM.
    • Activity: Review summary.
      • List suggestions for action.
      • Review church's purpose statement.
      • Review church's leadership structure and purpose.
      • Compare suggestions with purpose statement.
      • Prioritize and reduce to 4 primary objectives.
  • Implementation (6 hours) Saturday
    • Participants: Church leadership and staff with ETM.
    • Activity: Review and refine recommendations (above).
      • Write specific objectives, agree on specific strategies and tactics for achieving the stated objectives to three levels.
    • Sunday: ETM staff preaches: advises congregation of activities and achievements of the process and encourages the church body to support its leaders in their commitments to restore unity, vision and enthusiasm to their corporate endeavors. Sunday evening: ETM meets with pastoral staff.
  • Continuation: A recurring process that repeats the "ERI" cycle periodically but comprehensively one year later. During that time ETM staff remain available to the leadership for advice and counsel at whatever level they require.
